Death
ROCHESTER -- The funeral Mass for Emily Davidson Boucher Furr will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, Minn. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Furr, 92, stepmother of Thomas (Bette) Furr of Rochester, died Monday (Jan. 16, 2006) at her home in Marion, Iowa. She also is survived by six children, eight other stepchildren, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a sister. She was preceded in death by two husbands, three brothers, three sisters and two stepchildren. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church. There will be a Catholic Daughters rosary at 5 p.m. Friday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Mercy, 2740 1st Ave. N.E., Cedar Rapids, IA 52402 or the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Visitation will also be an hour prior to services at the church. Emily was born July 13, 1913, in Faribault, Minn., the daughter of Ludwig and Armena Logghe Davidson. She married George Boucher in 1935, he died in 1949. She married Everett Furr in 1953, he died in 1979. She is survived by one sister, Ruth Reusch of St. Paul, Minn.; six children Eileen Kott, Leo (Phyllis) Boucher all of St. Paul, Minn., Tom (Norma) Boucher of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Brixius of Seattle, Wash., Ann (Dan) Pote of Plano, Texas, Laura (Brian) Draeger of Marion, Iowa; nine stepchildren, Zita (Clifford) Mittelstaedt of Waseca, Minn., Rita (Jack) Eggert of New Haven, Mo., Gertrude (Mahlon) Grubish of Waterville, Minn., Margaret (Norm) Doyone of Hudson, Wis., Loretta Olson of Medford, Minn., Ramona (Tony) Tonga of Shieldsville, Minn., Dr. Leo (Yvonne) Furr of Bird Island, Minn., Thomas (Bette) Furr of Rochester, Minn., Chuck Furr of Kailua, Hawaii; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Emily was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three brothers; three sisters; two stepchildren, Bill and Robert Furr. Emily extended loving care to those she served in her work as a nurse's aid as well as to her large family. Her faith and devotion to God were an example to many. She was a charter member of Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed reading and gardening. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very loved by all who knew her.
