Death

Sublimity – V. H. “Oscar” Furr, 76, died Thursday. A Colorado native, he moved to Sublimity from Monmouth in 1970. He was a cabinet maker for Guerdon Industries. He served on the Sublimity City Council and was past president of the Sublimity Mobile Village Tenants Association. His memberships included First Christian Church in Monmouth, Elks Lodge No. 1950 and Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 1776. He enjoyed camping. Survivors include his wife, Alma; sons, James of Bakersfield, Calif., Jerry of Sublimity and Donald of Reno, Nev.; seven grand- children; and five great- grandchildren. Services will be 3 p.m. Monday in Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary in Salem. Interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Salem. Contributions: Elks Eye Bank.
