William Thomas Morris, born August 06, 1863 probably in Wayne, Henry Co., IN; died January 25, 1941 at the Miramonte Rest Home in Huntington Park, Los Angeles Co., CA. His CA death certificate list's his wife's name as Emma S. Morris. William removed to Monmouth, IL with his parents and siblings about 1865. He married Emily Devore Smith on August 13, 1884 in Monmouth, Warren Co., IL. He was 21 yrs. old and she was 18 yrs. old. The 1930 federal census shows that William is married and that his age at marriage was 21 yrs. Emily Devore Smith was born on December 15, 1866 in Winchester, Scott Co., IL; she died August 19, 1938 at the Florence Rest Home, in Florence, Los Angeles Co., CA. She was the daughter of James W. Smith and Lucy Dawson. William and family remained in Monmouth, IL until 1910 when they moved to Chicago, IL. Circa 1921-22 the family moved to Los Angeles, CA. William and Emily are buried in the Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, CA.
William and Emily had the following children:
1. Helen Lorene Morris, born April 03, 1895 in Monmouth, IL; died July 23, 1971 in Encino, Los Angeles Co., CA; married Homer Gibson Kennedy Jan 01, 1916 in Monmouth, IL. He was born April 09, 1893 in Ornage, Clinton Co., IA; died Dec 21 1966 in Whittier, Los Angeles Co., CA. Helen and Homer had no issue.
2. James Smith Morris, born 1896 in Monmouth, IL; died 1919 Chicago, IL of Typhus. He died single and without issue.
3. Esther Louise Morris, born Dec 04, 1908 in Moravia, Appanoosa Co., IA; died October 12, 1976 in La Habra, Orange Co., CA; married (1) Santo "Sam" Cesario Dec 18, 1929 in Santa Ana, Orange Co., CA; married (2) Robert Franklin Bruce July 24, 1945 in Huntington Park, Los Angeles Co. CA. Santo Cesario was born Oct 05, 1909 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA; died July 12, 1982 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA. Santo was the son of Francesco Cesario and Anna Maria La Salvia. He and Louise had six children, five are still living. Robert Franklin Bruce was born Dec 15, 1915 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA; died Feb 12, 1989 in Whittier, Los Angeles Co., CA. Robert was the son of Eugene Carroll Bruce and Nellie Bly McCann. Robert and Louise had no issue.
