Death
Robert "Bob" Furr, 81 of Waverly, IA. formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at Waverly Health Center in Waverly, IA. He was born December 1, 1938 to Albert and Edith (Martin) Furr in Indianapolis, IN. He married the love of his life, Freda "Gail" Byers of Veedersburg on August 12, 1960. She preceded him in death. Bob was a graduate from Arsenal Technical High School class of 1957. He then served in the US Marine Corp from 1957-1960. He was employed at R.R. Donnelly & Sons for 37 years. Following retirement, he worked part-time at Shades State Park. Bob was a dedicated family man, who loved the outdoors and being active with family & friends. He was the proud Dad and Grandpa who never missed any sporting event or activity. He served in the National Guard, was a Boy Scout Master, Hunters Ed instructor and was a member of many different local clubs. Bob's legacy includes his four children: Barbara (Dean) Kolb of Oconomowoc, WI; Paula (Bret) Billet of Waverly, IA.; Jeff (Shannon) Furr of Crawfordsville, IN.; Gary (Lori) Furr of Waveland, IN. and six grandchildren: Josh (Philesha) Kolb of Appleton, WI; Brandon (Brittany) Billet of Waukee, IA.; Brant Furr of Bloomington, IN.; Shaley (Sean) Pence of Crawfordsville, IN.; Kacey Myers of Greencastle, IN.; J.D. Furr of Avon, IN. He is also survived by one brother Earl Furr of New Whiteland, IN. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Harold Furr along with a sister Pearl Furr. Because of restrictions from COVID-19, there will only be a private graveside service for the immediate family at Rockfield Cemetery.Endnotes
