In 1905 he moved his family to Cheyenne County, Kansas. His wife passed away in July of that year but he kept the family together until they left for homes of their own.
He left the farm in 1920 and since that time has made his home with his children in their homes.
He had a stroke December 24, 1937 and lost the use of his left side.
The youngest of twelve children, he goes to join his seven brothers and four sisters. He leaves to mourn their loss, three sons, two daughters and seventeen grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.
We grieve because our dad is gone
But, comes our time, we follow him
And I'll not think I've done so bad
If I can follow steps of dad.
Long years ago he lost his mate
He has met her at the Pearly Gate
Now hand in hand, up in the sky
They wait our coming, by and by.
