Death
Brittany Houghton Furr, 58, of Arvada, Colorado passed away on October 5th, 2023 after unexpected complications during heart surgery. Brittany was born on March 5th, 1965 to Houghton Furr Jr and Sharon (Framstead) Furr, in Lincoln, Nebraska, She attended Prescott, Randolph, and Rousseau Elementary, as well as Pound Middle School, and Lincoln Southeast High School. After school, she spent a handful of years making the sort of memories that only the 1980's could make, before becoming a nurse, a profession she excelled at until her passing. She dabbled in other areas of professional interest like real estate, cosmetics, and wellness, but always came back to healthcare in hopes of giving others long, healthy, fulfilling lives. She was an unrepentant animal lover and a huge advocate of adopting rescued dogs. Her fur babies were often even more spoiled than her actual children. When she wasn't narrating the lives of Harry and Boo, she spent her time singing to her numerous plants, painting abstract artwork, collecting crystals, and exploring her adopted state of Colorado. Brittany was preceded in passing by her mother, Sharon, and her beloved best friend and father, Houghtie, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents, brother Jeffrey Puls, and brother-in-law Henry Tamasi. She leaves behind so many who love and miss her, including daughter, Bailey McAllister, and son, Dylan McAllister, both of Arvada, CO, sister, Shelley Tamasi of Schuyler, NE, sister Myra (Daniel) Walker of Lincoln, NE, nieces Chelsea (Nick) Trendler of Ewing Township, NJ, Bianca (Derek) Jones of Seward, NE, Lindsay Tamasi, Rianna Tamasi, and Bella Walker, all of Lincoln, NE, and granddaughter Annalyse Cookston of Cortland, NE. She also leaves behind numerous friends and chosen heart family, along with most of Bailey and Dylan's friends, who all knew her as Mama Boo. A celebration of life will be held in Lincoln, NE at a later date in November. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brittany's Memorial GoFundMe (https://gofund.me/7a3c86a9) or in Brittany's memory to Hearts United for Animals in Auburn, NE. Until we meet again, remember to love your pets, hug your loved ones, and laugh as much as possible, even at silly things. Especially at silly things.Endnotes
