Death
Jan. 1, 1960- Former Resident Of Mellott Dies- MELLOTT- Mrs. Junia Riley Furr, 87, a former resident of this community, died at her home at Frankfort Friday evening. She had been an invalid for the past three years as the result of a fall in which her hips were fractured. Mrs. Furr was born near Mellott to Elias and Samantha Short Riley on Jan. 24, 1872. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace Furr of Mellott. Survivors include two daughters, Nora at home and Mrs. Artie Philpott of Frankfort; a son Glenn who is living in the western part of the country; a half-brother, Irvin Riley, of Mellott, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Carrie Gott and Mrs. Alpha Duncan of Mellott and Mrs. Josephine Akin of Hillsboro. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, in Monticello.Endnotes
