Death
Sheldon Chapman Brown, 62, was found dead Monday evening at his farm about 3 1/2 miles south of Kingman. Mr. Brown was found by his wife in a field where he had gone to burn trash. When he did not return she went to look for him. The field was burning at the time. The Browns maintain a permanent home in Cincinnati, Ohio, but, often spent their summers on their farm and had been there over the weekend. Mrs. Brown ran to the home of a neighbor, James C. Yater, who called the authorities. Coronor Ralph Nelson stated that Brown, had died of a heart attack. Born April 10, 1900, at Chapman, Ohio, he was the son of Robert and Blanche Isomgole Brown. He was married in 1924 to Mercedes Furr, who survives. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a retired railway mail clerk. Other survivors include a brother, Robert of Indianapolis. Services were held at 2 pm. Thursday at the Woodrow Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs, officiating. Burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.Endnotes
