Death
Mrs. Louisa Longwith, wife of William Longwith, Civil war veteran, died at the Soldiers' Home Hospital about 8:30 p.m. Friday after an illness of several weeks of hardening of the arteries. Born in Ohio November 2, 1847, she was aged 79 years. Since November, 1917, she had been a member of the Burkett institution (Note: Burkett was originally the name of a nearby post office. and the institution was later called the Soldier's and Sailor's home at Grand Island or the Veteran's Home.) Her husband resides at Burkett. The body was taken to Schuyler Saturday for burial.Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent, December 27, 1926
