Death
Kathryn Elizabeth ÒBettyÓ Nutter White, 79, of Riverland Road, Jarvisburg, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. White was born June 25, 1927, in Boomer County, W.Va,, and was the daughter of the late Harry Nutter and Agnes Kessenger Nutter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Vincel White, on May 6, 1995. Mrs. White was a retired supervisor with the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co. in Leesburg, Va., and a member of the Powells Point Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Pat W. Furr and her husband, Billy, Peggy White and Pam White, all of Jarvisburg; her granddaughters, Amy Crouch, Ashley Furr and Katie Dixon; and great-granddaughters, Taylor, Kasey and Emma Crouch. A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Twiford's Funeral Home, Northside Chapel, 1115 N. Road St., Elizabeth City, with Minister Tommy Nutter officiating. Entombment will follow on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 11:30 a.m. at the Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Suffolk, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday, Aug. 20, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., at Twiford's Funeral Home, Northside Chapel, 1115 N. Road St., and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Billy Furr, 209 Riverland Road, Jarvisburg.
