Notes
Death
On Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, Emma Dora Reynolds slipped away from us at home with her family at her side. We were so privileged to have her with us for 96 years. Emma was born Feb. 8, 1910 in St. Joseph, Mo., to Catherine and Clarence Northern. In 1927 she married Clyde Etherton Reynolds and had two daughters Pat (Richard) Furr and Shirley (Wendall) Jarman. Clyde predeceased her in 1989. In 1937 the couple moved to Kirkland, Wash., where their daughters were born. In 1945 they moved to Redwood City and founded Reynolds Brothers Moving and Storage. Emma worked for Ampex before the area became known as Silicon Valley. After retirement the couple owned and managed apartments in Redwood City. When their family moved to Chico in 1973, Clyde and Emma soon followed. Emma served as Matron of the Menalto Chapter of Eastern Star, Guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel 242, held offices in the Redwood City chapter of Rebeccas and more recently enjoyed her many friends at the Chico chapter of Eagles. The greatest memories in Emma's life were from being with her daughters in Chico, her grand children, Mark (Lori) Furr of Schenectady, N.Y.; Jody (Shawn) Boudreau of Kona, Hawaii; Lisa Furr of Chico; Dan (Tiffany) Jarman, Sr. of Chico and her great-grandchildren, Tarryn Furr, Sheyann Jarman, Erica Furr, Danny Jarman, Jr. and Wendy (Wayne) Craft. Her only regret is in not being here for the birth of her great-great-grandchild in January. Emma enjoyed her many friends playing Bingo each week and was proud of being one of the oldest "winners". She was known for her quick wit, cute jokes, potato salad and chocolate cream pie. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Emma's family and friends are invited to share memories at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006.Chico Enterprise-Record, Sepember 6, 2006
