JORDAN, Dena Constance Born in Birmingham, Alabama, September 17, 1917, passed away in Carmichael, October 25, 2006, at the age of 89 years. Dena was a gentle, soft spoken true "Southern-Belle". After WWII she worked in a candy store in Birmingham where her sweetness and gentle nature stole the hearts of many young men. In 1946 she was swept off her feet and married the late Steve N. Jordan, a local developer in Sacramento, CA. She spent her most memorable years with Steve in Las Cruces, New Mexico raising her family. The family moved to Sacramento, CA in 1962. In Sacramento Dena became involved in the Greek Hellenic Culture, always welcoming into her home numerous youth groups and members of the Greek Community of Sacramento. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a warm & gracious woman. She is survived by her Children & Family: daughter Mary L. Jordan & husband Syd, daughter Stephanie-Jordan Furr & husband Dennis, daughter Nicolette Madrid & husband Frank, daughter Denise Gilbert & husband John, son Nicholas S. Jordan. Devoted grandmother of Nicole, Michael, Ryan & wife Lydia, Gina & husband Brian, Lauren, Shawn, Steven and Jacob and great grandmother of Kyle, Jack and Grant. She was a beloved sister to Bess Costanza & Clara Fowler of Birmingham, Alabama and Mary Moriarty of Tarzana, CA. Dena was a member of Daughters of Penelope and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. Friends are welcome for visitation Wednesday, November 1, from 12:00 to 7:00 P.M. and are invited to attend the Trisagion Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. at NICOLETTI, CULJIS & HERBERGER Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd. 451-7284 and are invited to attend Funeral Services Thursday, November 2, at 11:00 A.M. at GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE ANNUNCIATION, Alhambra & F Streets. Interment, East Lawn Sierra Hills. Remembrances may be made in Dena's name to Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation Building Fund.The Sacramento Bee from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29, 2006
