Death
Fay Whitt, age 82, of Remington, passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at Fauquier Hospital. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years Clyde Whitt; sons, Bernard and Wayne Whitt; and granddaughters, Susan and Beth. Mrs. Whitt is survived by her son Billy Whitt and wife Barbara; daughters, Sue Parker and husband Charles, Ruth Furr and husband Howard, Bonnie Posey, Linda Schubert and Rita Whitt; grandchildren and spouses, Kathy and Dave Balas, Karen and Mark Tharp, Billy and Courtney Whitt, Bryan and Michelle Whitt, Tracey Furr, Lisa Parker, Carla and Jason Hertenstein, Dana Posey, Patricia Furr, Laura and Chip Coleman, Jason and Kim Schubert, Angela and Paul Dammon, and Lindsay Huntt; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Brandon Tharp, Victoria and Adrianna Hertenstein, Jackson and Peyton Coleman, Christopher Huntt, Adam Shubert, Kaleb Shirks and Benjamin Whitt. She is also survived by three sisters, Pinkie Hensley, Dorothy Wampler, and Lois Alderman; and one brother Walter Street. Mrs. Whitt, the "matriarch" of the Whitt family, had a heart that encompassed the world, and an extended family that could go on for columns. Very dear to her heart were "adopted" granddaughter Skylar Brummet; daughters, Sue Mashburn and Linda Mercy; and granddaughter Lyrae Stefanon. Mrs. Whitt lived with her husband and family in the Nokesville area for over 45 years. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church, an avid gardener, self-appointed teacher, mother, and grandmother to the world - on earth a collector of angels, in heaven given her own wings. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 .m. with Pastor Clinton Owens officiating.
