Death
Herbert Morris Frazier, age 74, of Gainesville, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004 at Hospice of Northern Virginia, Arlington. He was born June 30, 1929 in Elkton, son of the late John L. and Virgie Shifflett Frazier. Mr. Frazier was a member of Battlefield Baptist Church, Gainesville; Haymarket Lodge, No. 313, A.F. & A.M.; Cochran Lodge, No. 271, A.F. & A.M., The Plains; The Scotish Rite; Alexandria Body and Royal Arch, No. 25, The Plains. He was past District Deputy Grand High Priest, The Plains; past Worthy Patron of Haymarket, Chapter 123, Eastern Star; and past Worthy Patron, Falls Church, Chapter No. 51. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict and retired from Dulles Airport in 1987 after 26 years of service. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Deloris Good-Frazier; three children, Jane Furr, Donna Fletcher and Eddie Frazier; five sisters, Lena Shifflett, Florence Frazier, Clara Dean, Marjorie Shifflett and Eunice McCoy; one brother, Henry Frazier; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. and a memorial Masonic service at 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5 at Battlefield Baptist Church, 4361 Lee Highway, Gainesville with Pastor K.G. Skinner and Bro. Bob Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Hospices of the National Capital Region, 9300 Lee Highway, Suite 500, Fairfax, VA 22031-1207, in memory of Herbert Frazier.Published in Potomac News and Manassas Journal Messenger on Jan. 3, 2004
