Death
Winnemucca — Arthur M. Furr, 49, a former resident of Winnemucca, died Sunday in a Phoenix, Ariz., hospital. A native of Bellingham, Wash., he had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska for a number of years and, on moving to Gila Bend, Ariz., about 12 years ago, went to work in a service station. Surviving are his mother, Julie Zabala, of Winnemucca; a brother, Orville of Ferndale, Wash.; and sister, Marjorie Matovich of Martinez, Calif. A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Eddy’s Funeral Home, Winnemucca. Burial will follow in the Winnemucca Cemetery.Reno Gazette-Journal, Reno, Nevada, April 27, 1978
