HENDERSON — Weldon Graham Vaughan, 78, of 2250 Bobbitt Road, Kittrell, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Granville Medical Center in Oxford.Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Willie Lee and Addie Elizabeth Faucette Vaughan. He was the widower of Barbara Kittrell Vaughan.
Mr. Vaughan was retired as a supervisor with Lauren’s Glass Inc. He was a member of Plank Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Carolyn Roy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Bettie V. Furr and husband Gary of Wake Forest and Jeannie Vaughan of Louisburg; a son, Charles Vaughan of Henderson; a sister, Dorothy Thacker of Midlothian, Virginia; four grandchildren, Cynthia Vaughan, Zollie Gilliam III and wife Terri, Mandy Gilliam and Eric Vaughan and wife Frances; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Vaughan, Jared Gilliam and Joshua Gilliam. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Vaughan and Ernest Vaughan. The family will receive friends today, July 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home, 2250 Bobbitt Road, Kittrell. Arrangements are by Flowers Funeral Home.
