Jimmy, 80, Del City, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2002. He was born to John D. and Grace Stansbury Heckmaster on Dec. 31, 1921 in Diamond, MO. Jimmy's church membership was in Del City Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where he took care of church facilities for over 30 years. He loved to fish and watch Nascar racing. He was a veteran of WW II, serving 4 years. Jimmy was retired 27 years from Tinker Air Force Base. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Billy; daughter, Susan and husband, Ross Collins of Del City; son, Alan Heckmaster and wife, Julie of Del City; grandchildren, Erica Heffley and husband, Paul of Yukon, Ami Heckmaster of Edmond; 3 stepgrandchildren, Alex, Trevor, and Kirk Wilkes, all of Del City; sisters, Mable Garrett of Joplin, MO; Lou Etta Fredricks and husband, Byron of Las Cruces, NM; brothers, William Heckmaster of Carthage, MO; John D. Heckmaster and wife, Betty of Diamond, MO; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Del City Christian Church or Mercy Hospice.
