Resided in Cumberland, WI. Entered US Army Air Corps on April 1, 1942. Graduated February 5, 1943 as a pilot and commissioned 2nd Lt. Instructed other pilots in tactical aircraft at Florence, South Carolina. Went overseas on November 13, 1944 to Italy. Joined the 12th Tactical Air Force, 85th Bomb Squadron. Flew 44 missions and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals, two Unit Citations. Served 44 months active duty. Retired as a Captain from the US Air Force Reserves on March 25, 1960. Worked as a carpenter and contractor in Chetek, Wisconsin until 1957 when he returned to government employment as an Air Traffic Controller. Retired on April 25, 1975.
