REMINGTON — The death of a 4-year old Remington boy on Friday is under investigation by the Jasper County police. Lucas E. Furr died at 6:34 p.m. at Jasper County Hospital, where he was taken following an automobile-related accident near his home on 315 South Ohio Street. Police said Monday that no more information could be released. An obituary for Lucas appears on Page 2 of today’s newspaper.REMINGTON — Lucas Edward Furr, 4, of Remington, died at 6:34 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2003, at Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer, from injuries suffered in an auto-related accident at his home Friday. He was born on Feb. 15, 1999, in Monticello, to Don and Kendora Lucas Furr. He just graduated from pre-school. Surviving are his mother, of Remington; sisters, Denea, Selena and Rheanna, all of Remington; his father, of Monticello; grandmothers, Rosie Lucas Cranford of Remington and Roberta Borden of West Lafayette; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Randy Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Chalmers Community Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the American Red Cross.

Lucas Edward Furr, 4, of Remington died Friday evening May 24 [sic], 2003, at Jasper County Hospital as a result of injuries he received in an auto related accident at home earlier in the day. He was born February 15, 1999 in Monticello. He had just graduated from Preschool. He is survived by his mother Kendora (Lucas) Furr, sisters Denea (15) Selena (13) and Rheanna (9) all at home and his father, Don Furr of Monticello. Also surviving are his grandmothers, Rosie Lucas Crawford of Remington and Roberta Borden of West Lafayette. He also had several aunts and uncles, and cousins. Friends may call at the Hartzler Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29, 2003 from 4 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, May 30, 2003 at 11 a[.]m[.] at Hartzler Funeral Home with Randy Sparks presiding. Burial will be in Chalmers Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Red Cross.
