Notes
Death
Matson, near New London, Mrs. Frances Ann Chinn, Feb. 7, 1898, after a short but painful illness. Mrs. Chinn's home was in Vandalia, but she and her husband were on a visit to their daughter when she became sick. Mrs. Chinn was born in Virginia Sept. 6, 1824, hence was 73 years 6 months and one day old. She was married to Robert Chinn in March 1844. To this union were born 7 children, four of whom, with the aged husband, survive her. Grandma Chinn was a woman of great strength of character, strong in her convictions of right, of affectionate disposition and kind and sympathetic nature. She was a consistent member of the Christian Church and her influence was always for good. The funeral was preached by Elder J. B. Corwine, at the Christian church after which the remains were interred in the Yandalia cemetery. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in this their great loss. The pallbearers were, J. B. Lewellen, J. R. Bratton, J. F. Coontz, J.N. Bondurant, I. J. Stuart and James Farthing.Endnotes
