Death

Our beloved Vera P. Furr passed away at home on March 21, 2009 surrounded by her family. She now rests in peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, on March 24, 2009 at the Second Baptist Church located at 10375 W. Overland in Boise, ID. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home. Vera was born June 28, 1928 in Hickory Grove, LA. She moved to Alexandria, VA., where she met the love of her life, Charlie Furr. On November 7, 1953 they were married. They moved to Alamogordo, N.M. in 1966. They lived there for 40 years where Vera had numerous jobs and owned two businesses, The Seat Cover and Oasis Mobile Home Park. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alamogordo where she sang in the choir. Vera was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved The Lord. She was a person of many talents. She was a talented seamstress, a gifted singer and awesome homemaker. Everything she did was done in love and with graciousness. Her family was her passion. She and Charlie moved to Boise in 2006. Vera is survived by her husband Charles A. Furr; her children Charlene (Randy) Hodgkinson of Boise, ID; Dusty Furr of Waynesboro, PA; Karla (Mike) Gerleve of Tor C, N.M.; Dean (Lori) Furr of Alamogordo, N.M. and Allen (Betty) Furr of Quitman, LA; a sister, Jessie Welch of Hickory Grove, LA; eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Albert W. and Pearlee Paulk; her brother, Albert W. Paulk Jr. and granddaughter, Sage Vancleave.
