Elizabeth Lucie "Betsy" Glathart Knight of Palatine Visitation for Mrs. Elizabeth Lucie "Betsy" Glathart Knight, 62, will be from 3 to 9 p.m, with services at 7 p.m. today, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale, Ill. Born May 24, 1943, at Fort Francis E. Warren, Cheyenne, Wyo., she died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at home. An Air Force veteran, Betsy was a former employee of the Palatine Public Library and a member of the board of the Friends of the Library. She was a founding member of the Northwest Suburban Quilters Guild and a member of PAQA (Professional Art Quilters Alliance). Betsy was also a leader for more than 25 years with the La Leche League and a former leader for the Compassionate Friends - parents of infants group. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence W. Knight; children, Jessica (Kevin) Ford, L. Meredith (fiance Andrew Patch) Knight and Gavin Alexander Knight; sister, Dorothy Kay Glathart; and granddaughter, Ariana Elizabeth Ford. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Landon Alexander Knight; and her parents, Clifford Ellsworth and Mary Elizabeth (nee Furr) Glathart.
