Norman URTON
(1787 - 1834)
Norman was found living in Hampshire County, Virginia, on July 16, 1824 and was found guilty of murder of a Negro slave named Fannie in Hampshire County. Witnesses in the trial show that Winifred Hall was a neighbor for 16 years and also there is a deed for land transfer dated February 11, 1823 and shows a wife as Barsheba Furr Urton. When his father committed his will, he mentioned a John, son of Norman, who was willed $1 to show that he was not disinherited. According to the will, Norman was deceased at the time James (1752-1836) wrote his will. See Jefferson Co, KY Will Book #3, p. 78 & 79.
