William Newton Bailey Jr., 76, of Rt. 1, Vernon, died at 7:20 a.m. Monday (May 28, 1984) in King's Daughters' Hospital. He was born on March 17, 1908 near Verona, a son of W. Newton and Addie (Furr) Bailey. He was a farmer and a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gladys (Huff) Bailey, whom he married on June 16, 1950; an uncle, and several cousins.The Staunton News Leader -- Staunton, Augusta County, Virginia -- May 29, 1984
