LONG BEACH, Calif. — Mrs. Louise Scalf, 47, a native of Crawfordsville, died Friday in her Long Beach home. While in Crawfordsville she was employed at R. R Donnelley & Sons Co. She had lived in Long Beach 20 years. Born Aug. 6, 1924, in Veedersburg, she was a daughter of James Carpenter and Josie Mae Furr. She married William Scalf April 27, 1949, in Crawfordsville. Survivors include the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Broderson, Muriel Jolyne Scalf and Rebecca Scalf, all of Long Beach; two brothers, Homer Carpenter of Bloomingdale and Harry Carpenter of Los Angeles, Calif., and a sister, Ethel Hennesley of Logansport. She was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bright & Burkhart Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Shotts officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.Endnotes
