Death
Owosso, Michigan resident, Larry L. Furr 76 passed away early Friday, July 5, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of Owosso. A memorial service will be held at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. He was born in Buffalo Calf, West Virginia on December 21, 1942. He was raised by his mother Mary Furr and his grandparents, Otis and Nellie Furbee. After high school Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and honorably served his country from 1961 to 1965. After he was honorably discharged, Larry obtained a degree in industrial arts from Salem College in Salem, West Virginia. He was then employed by the Murphy Company and became assistant manager at a store in Owosso, Michigan where he met his loving wife, Susan. Larry and Susan periodically took up residency in numerous states throughout the U.S. for Larry’s work, after which he and Susan settled back in Owosso, Michigan to raise a family. He later became employed at Universal Electric and retired after 25 years. Larry enjoyed many hobbies, most of which were outdoors activities; including cave exploring, climbing, fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, and canoeing. He was also a talented artist, who enjoyed painting, wood carving, and sculpting.Endnotes
