Death

BETHANY — Elaine Furr, 81, of Bethany passed away 11:41 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Findlay Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice. Elaine was born November 2, 1930 in Moweaqua, the daughter of Ed and Leona (Rowe) Stringer. She married William A. “Bill” Furr January 1, 1949 in Shelbyville, he survives. Elaine was a member of the Westervelt Christian Church, and attended the Bethany United Methodist Church. She did volunteer work for the Moweaqua Nursing Home for several years. Elaine is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Kathy M. (Terry) Burtsfield of South Bend, IN; brother, Jack (Charlotte) Stringer of Macon; grandson, Michael “Mick” Ferguson of Findlay; granddaughters, Dawn (T.G.) Redfern of Lovington, and Alison Ferguson of Tolono; great grandchildren Janette Comstock, Garrett Ferguson, and Mckenzie Redfern. She is preceded in death by her parents.
