Death

Catherine "Kate" Furr, age 91, of Galion passed away Monday June 2, 2025 at her home. Born June 2, 1934 in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Pete and Flora (Burden) Wagner. She married Herbert Furr on June 13, 1953 and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2025. Kate was a very active member of Ark Church in Galion and enjoyed knitting and watching her grandchildren in their various sporting events. She was an "Energizer Bunny" and served as the rock of the family. She worked during her lifetime at several Galion businesses including Wendy's, Rax, Clancy's and the Galion Community Hospital. She is survived by her children: Mike (Shirley) Furr, Jeff (Stephanie) Furr, Theresa Furr and Dwayne (Dinora) Furr, 14 grandchildren: Shawn (Dani) Furr, Matt (Nikki) Furr, Cody (Stephanie) Furr, Bianca Furr, Monique (Jessie) Delaney, Amber Furr, Chantal Furr, Skylar Furr, Lucas (Mandy) Maynard, Brandi Maynard, Andrew (Leslie) Furr, Arron Furr, Stephanie Furr and Shandraya Furr, 18 great-grandchilden and her daughter-in-law Carol Furr. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons: Gary and Rodney Furr and brothers Pete and Chuck Wagner and her sister Esther Van Horn. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Friday June 6, 2025 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Shaull officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
