Death
SHELBYVILLE — Richard Wilson 'Dick' Horsman, 61, of Shelbyville, died at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004 in Shelby Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Virgil Sprock and Rev. Ron Newman officiating. Visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour before services on Saturday. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery on Williamsburg Hill, near Lakewood. Memorials may be given to the House of Living Water, St. Louis or American Heart Association. Mr. Horsman was born on December 9, 1942 in Shelbyville, the son of Wilson and Grace Furr Horsman. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1961. He was a retired farmer and welder at P & H Manufacturing, Shelbyville. He was a member of Life Christian Church in St. Louis, MO. He was active in local Christian singing groups and enjoyed performing at Hawthorn Inn and Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville and Delmar Gardens South Nursing Home in St. Louis. He married Jamie K. Shallenberger on October 27, 1962. Surviving are his wife, Jamie; son, Richard Todd Horsman and wife Terri of Shelbyville; daughters, Janice Roberts and husband Dan of Buras, Louisiana, Tana Duck and husband Jeff of Shelbyville and Kendra Meyer and husband Peter of Lombard; brothers, Jim Horsman and wife Lana of Peoria and Tom Horsman and wife Brenda of Shelbyville; five grandchildren, Shelby and Christian Roberts, Zachary and Jacob Duck, and Hallie Horsman; nephew, Kent Horsman; and niece, Jill Horsman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sue Horsman in infancy.Endnotes
