Death

Melodie L. (Carpenter) Richardson, 67 of Milan passed away Saturday May 28, 2011 at Ripley Crossing at Milan. Melodie was born July 31, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Virgil and Martha Alice (Channel) Lane Carpenter She married Sonny Richardson December 19, 1981 and he survives. She had been a US Post Office employee at both the Sunman and Milan Post Offices; and had worked at the Milan Railroad Inn. She was a member of the Cheviot United Methodist Church, and the Milan Ladies Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include Husband, Sonny Richardson of Milan; sons; Russell (Karen) Griffith of Batesville, Christopher (Tera) Furr of Milan; Tracy and Eric Richardson both of Milan, Robin Richardson of Florida; daughters Ami (Don) Ester of Moores Hill, Renae Johnson of Milan and Tonya Richardson of Colorado; sister Mary Carpenter Ryan of Moores Hill; 17 Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 daughter Jennifer Furr. Funeral services will be Thursday June 2, 2011 at 11AM at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, 707 S. Main St., Milan, In. 47031 with Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Sinai Cemetery near Moores Hill. Visitation will be Wednesday June 1; 5-8PM at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Hoxworth Blood Center in Cincinnati through the funeral home. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan entrusted with arrangements.
