Paul G. “Chipper” Edwards II, 70, of Charles Town, died Monday, April 30, 2018, at Jefferson Medical Center, Ranson. Born Nov. 2, 1947, in Charles Town, he was the son of Paul Grayson Edwards and Dulcie Marie (Ramey) Edwards. Chipper owned and operated Chipper’s Barber Shop for 40 plus years. He also worked at Collins Barber Shop. He attended Charles Town Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Charles Town High School, class of 1965. Chipper loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Malta Masonic Lodge No. 80. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, where he was a military policeman. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy (Furr) Edwards, at home; daughters, Amy M. Edwards, of Charles Town and Lindsay A. Burghart and husband, Jerod, of Middleburg, Florida; grandchildren, Jace P. Burghart and Jaxon K. Burghart; two nieces and two nephews; and four legged babies, Max, Sam, Hank and Joe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his best friend, Sosa; and sister, Lorna L. Wade. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Charles Town Presbyterian Church, 220 E. Washington St., Charles Town, with the Rev. John Bethard officiating. Interment will be at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements by the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
