Marriage
Ed and Jan (Carver) Furr, Crawfordsville, marked their 50th wedding anniversary April 11 with their children and grandchildren at the Beef House, Covington. They will celebrate the milestone with an upcoming cruise to the Caribbean. They are the parents of Ryan (Ann) Furr of New Ross and Kevin Furr of Crawfordsville. They have four grandchildren, Erica, Brittany, Zachary and Lauren Furr, all of Crawfordsville, and a great-grandchild Alexa Richey, CrawfordsvilleDeath
Eddie “Ed” Dean Furr of Crawfordsville went to be with the Lord on Friday night, surrounded by his loving family, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette. He was 71. Ed worked as a machinist at Mid-States until it closed, when he went to work at Sommer Metalcraft, retiring from there, but then also working at Heritage Products. He stayed busy his whole life and was a great provider, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed vacations which included cruises, camping and spending time with family. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Born Nov. 21, 1949 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Gerald Furr and Louise Carroll Furr. He attended Waynetown High School. He married Jan Carver on April 11, 1968. She survives. Surviving family includes: wife, Jan Furr; two sons, Ryan (Ann) Furr and Kevin Furr (Larry Roe); sister, Rita (Butch) Cummings; six grandchildren, Erica, Brittany, Zach, Lauren, Mariah, Collin; four great-grandchildren, Alexa, Mia, Emmi, Harlee with a great-grandson due in Sept. He had several nephews and nieces. He was also survived by his beloved dog, Gracie. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, July 7at First Baptist Church, 1905 Lebanon Road, Crawfordsville. A service to celebrate his life will be held in the church at 1PM on Thursday, led by Pastor Isaac Zull. Following the service, he will be cremated and laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery.Endnotes
