BUCYRUS: Charles "Charlie" R. Bell, 64 years of age, of 4129 Quantance Rd., Bucyrus died late Friday evening at Bucyrus Community Hospital following a brief illness. Charlie was born September 18, 1945 in Little York, Wyandot Co., to the late Charlie and Florence (Johnson) Bell. He was married April 23, 1984 to Ronda (Swart) Bell who survives. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by brothers, Herb, Stanley, and Orville; as well as one sister, Gladys Zupic. Mr. Bell is also survived by children, Tammy (Rory) Furr, N. Robinson, Charles R. (Ruth) Bell II, Kenton, Tim (Julie) Bell, Galion, Sarah Bell, Bucyrus; grandchildren, Wesley and Jared Furr, Charles III, Alex, Ethan, Ashton, Seth, and Samantha Bell; brother, Don Bell of Upper Sandusky; and sisters, Goldie Ward of Bucyrus and Hazel Spillman of Upper Sandusky. Mr. Bell formerly worked at National Lime and Stone and Ohio Crane, most recently he worked at A.O. Smith in Upper Sandusky. He moved back to this area in 1992 from Texas and had attended school in Upper Sandusky prior to joining the Navy and serving his country. Charlie was well known for drag racing and was a multiple winner of the Pro-Am Nationals in Larue, OH. He enjoyed rebuilding and restoring muscle cars, most particularly Fords. His favorite of all restorations was his black "69" Torino Cobra Jet. Charlie took great pride in putting cars back on the road in restored condition. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Kaler Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Bob Jividen officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the church through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.Endnotes
