(Abt 1824 - Aug 1869)

Events

BirthAbt 1824Census data for Hiram show the existence of an older son. The best fit is William Knickerbocker. Below are bits of data that might connect the dots. - Eaton, Madison, New York
Knick Lineage18241. HJ / 2. Lourens / 3. John / 4. Harmen / 5. John / 6. Hiram / 7. William (this person)
Knick Generation Number18247
Residence1850Eaton, Madison, New York
Knick Census Project: 18501850NY, Madison, Eaton. HOH = William Knickerbocker.
Extra information1850Eaton census in July shows Wm & Harriet together. For some reason Stockbridge wasn't done until Sept, and shows Harriet (at her parents?) with newborn. Same person?
Occupation1851Constable William Knickerbacker - Eaton, Madison County, New York, USA
Residence1855There are 2 Williams in Eaton in 1855. Both show birth in Madison County. One of them could be Hiram's oldest son. William & Harriett in the attached record are both 30 (b ~ 1825). The other William is 5 years older; wife's name smudged (Mi?s). - Eaton, Madison, New York
Extra information1855There were at least 2 Williams in the area. 1. Stockbridge/Munnsville has Harriet wife of Wm (1850 census & H's tombstone). 2. Eaton has a Wm/Harriet pair (1850 & 55); duplicate?. 3. Eaton also Wm and Mi? (1855).
Extra information1855William was a popular first name, so its hard to be sure. However, our William seems to disappear forever.
DeathAug 1869A 45 year old widower, named Willliam, who was born in NY died in Calhoun, Michigan. Could this be our William ? (Father Hiram and other family members moved to Calhoun before 1870.) - Calhoun County, Michigan, USA
Extra information1870There was a Wm in Iowa, b. NY, who is just the right age, but his father John Knickerbocker is living with him. Can't be our man.
Extra information1870This "William" disappears. There are Williams (or Wms) in the midwest, but none of them seem to fit.
Extra information1874There was a different Wm in Michigan. Familysearch has death notice for Sara A Nelson, daughter of Harriet and Wm. Knickerbocker. Sarah's father William was the son of Hugh Knickerbocker and Rachel Schram.
