Obituary:Doris L. Turkel, 79 of Valhalla, NY died on December 23, 1999 at her residence in Valhalla, NY. Doris was born January 18, 1920 in Huntington, NY to George and Effie (nee Weston) Gilroy. She is survived by her husband Harry Turkel of Valhalla, NY; one son, Simon Turkel of New York City, NY; two daughters, Ellen Turkel of San Diego, CA and Alice Turkel of Cambridge, MA; and three grandchildren. One brother, Kenneth Gilroy and one sister Marjorie Ruggles predeceases her. Funeral service Sunday 1 PM, Hawthorne Funeral Home. Interment private. Donations to Phelps Hospice, 701 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591, would be appreciated.
