Obituary: WORCESTER - Sylvia (Weinstein) Turkel, 79, of 629 Salisbury Street, formerly of New York City, died Saturday in the Jewish Home for Aged after a long illness. Her husband, Henry Turkel, died in 1975. She leaves two daughters, Mara Gordon of Worcester and Gail Lubetsky of Freehold, N.J.; a brother, Alvin Weinstein in New Jersey; and four grandchildren. She was born in New York City, daughter of Isadore and Rose (Levine) Weinstein, and lived there all her life until moving here in 1989.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today in Robert Shoem Menorah Chapel, W-150, Rte. 4, Paramus, N.J. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus. A memorial observance will be held this afternoon through Wednesday evening at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lubetsky, 52 Adams Place, Freehold, N.J.; and Thursday afternoon and evening at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Gordon, 25 Chamberlain Pkwy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home for Aged, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, 01609.
