Oreece Kelley Higginbotham, 81, of Hamburg died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Hamburg, she was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church since 1959 where she was the secretary of the children's department, a member of the choir and Women's Missionary Union for many years, and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lavon "Slick" Higginbotham of Hamburg; a son, Marion Higginbotham of Crossett; three daughters, Marilyn Chambers of Hamburg, Barbara Gifford of Crossett and Judy Pierce of North Little Rock; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack Kelley & Vennie Mae Wallace Higginbotham, and her grandparents that raised her, Pres & Ossie Wallace. Funeral services were at 4 p.m., Friday, June 5, in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial followed at the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jackie Lauhon, Zack Lauhon, Stuart Higginbotham, David Streeter, Jason Pierce, Ben Wood, Greg Griswould, Jon Jackson and Morris Knight.
