Margarette Dixon Dodd, 88, of Little Rock, a native of Ola, died Monday, Feb. 28 [2000].
She was born Dec. 16, 1911, to Ernest and Marjory Dixon and was a charter member of Westwood Garden Club, a life member of Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs and Jennie B. Hopkins Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Western Hills United Methodist Church, all at Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmo Edward Dodd; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, David Owen Dodd and his wife, Shirley, of Russellville; two daughters, Doris D. Dunlap and Darah R. Davis of Little Rock; a brother, James William Dixon of Ashdown; three sisters, Celeste Stewart of Little Rock, Ruby Billie Shelton of Amarillo, Texas, and Johnnie Bubs Hickey of Garland, Texas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Chapel at 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock by the Rev. Don Umfleet and the Rev. Jay Culpepper. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Western Hills United Methodist Church, 4601 Western Hills, Little Rock 72204, or Little Rock Federation of Garden Clubs, 1501 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock 72205.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
