Mrs. Irene White Stell, 89, of Hamburg, died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Hospice Home Care Center in Little Rock. Mrs. Stell was a native of Ashley County and she lived in Hamburg and Crossett all of her life. She was a homemaker; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Ashley County Medical Center and an active member of the First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ester Sunday School Class, the Choir and WMU.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John David Stell in 1990; her parents, Henry & Bessie Higginbotham White; four brothers, Gerald Dean, Garvin, Leo and Charles H. White and two sisters, Hazel Christmas and Willie West.
She is survived by a daughter, Becky Culp and her husband, David, of Hamburg; two grandchildren, Leslie Harris and her husband, James Allen, of Little Rock and Chuck Dumas of Fort Worth, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Harris and Garrett Dumas; a special caregiver, Billie Miller of Hamburg and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 3 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Hamburg. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 352, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
