Carl D. Tullos, 60, of Hamburg died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at his residence. A native and resident of Hamburg for most of his life, he was a 1970 graduate of Hamburg High School and an automobile mechanic, working at NAPA since 1997. He was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Louise Summitt Tullos of Hamburg; two sons, Steven Tullos and wife Allyson of Hamburg and Philip Tullos of Bay Cliff, Texas; a stepson, Ricky Winchester of Vanceboro, North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Vicky Mills of Hamburg; a brother, Jerry Tullos and wife Renea; two stepbrothers, Jimmy and Donald Klyng; a stepsister, Kathy Maly, all of La Marque, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law; Bennie and Pat Summitt of Hamburg and Billy and Judy Summitt of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Arthur Tullos; his mother, Martha McCann Klyng; and his stepfather, Charles H. Klyng, II.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 13, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Meredith officiating. Burial was in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were Calvin Frierson, Mike Croswell, Denny Holland, Trey Holland, Daniel Holland and Richard Martin.
