There were two people named George Stell born in Mississippi, and they were first cousins. The first George W. Stell [LHN7-CPW] 1855-1882 was a son of Robert James Stell and Elizabeth Bruner. This George married Dora Ann Fudge. The second George Stell [K865-DFN] 1857-1908 was a son of John C. David Stell (a brother of Robert James Stell) and Minty Ford. This George married Mary Jane Taylor. Both George Stells were living in the same household at the 1870 census in Ashley County, Arkansas. John C. David Stell and Minty Ford had died, so their son, George, and two of his brothers were living with their uncle, Robert James Stell. The 1870 census, as well as the marriage record of Dora Ann Fudge, gives the middle initial W for the first George, which helps to distinguish between them. Also, this author matches DNA with a descendant of the first George. Our common ancestors are the parents of Elizabeth Bruner. This DNA evidence confirms that it was George W. Stell who was the son of Elizabeth Bruner and the husband of Dora Ann Fudge.
