Hi Terry. I manage Jerry’s kit. the common ancestor is Thomas Samford and Levinah Turbeville. Jerry also tested on Ancestry if that helps.

This helps very much because, if Jerry Samford shares a common ancestor with me and Thomas Jasper Samford is the only common ancestor, it verifies that Thomas Jasper Samford is my 4th great grandfather as I had suspected but was unsure. I am descended from his daughter, Nancy Samford and her husband, Griffin Bruner. Griffin owned a 14-year-old black slave girl in 1850. Perhaps she was helping to care for his several small children.
May I ask through which of Thomas Jasper Samford's sons is Jerry Samford descended?
