News Pub (ind) | 20 May 1911 | the Forbes Times wrote: "On Wednesday afternoon an old and highly respected resident of the district, Mrs Bridget Curry, passed away, at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr M. J. Smith, of Pine Hill, Wongagong. The deceased was 83 years of age and had been in failing health for some years past. She leaves a grown up family and with them much sympathy is expressed. They are Messrs. Michael Curry (Melbourne), Daniel Curry (Eugowra), J. N. Curry B.A. (Dis School, Lithgow), Mrs D. Grogan (Sydney) and Mrs M. J. Smith (Forbes). The deceased, who was a native of county Meath, Ireland, and came to New South Wales in 1849. Her brother, the Late Rev. Father Harrington Ryan, was one of the pioneer priests of the Roman Catholic Church in New South wales, and latterly parish priest at Camden and Leichhart. The lady had resided in the Forbes district for about 18 years, and prior to that was for a number of years in the Camden & Cowra districts. A short service was held at St Lawrence's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday afternoon by the very Rev. Dean McAuliffe, after which the remains were interred in the local cemetery, the dean, assisted by Father Casey, officiating at the graveside. Mr W. E. Luthje had charge of the funeral arrangements." | | | |
