Christos Nikolaos Kakaletris
(1953 - 6 Dec 2020)
December 11, 2020: I met Christos many times when I visited with Joanne Dimitrakakis at her home in Barsinikos. She and Christos were best friends. Christos lived in two homes, a tiny family house up in the mountain in Barsinikos, and a home in Mystras. He would travel back and forth between the two homes. He was so kind and welcoming to me. He was the one who told me that Andreas Kostakos came from Perganteika, and when I asked him how did he know, he looked at me as if I was nuts and said, because that's where he was from -- that's how families came down the mountain into Anavryti and then Mystras/Agios Ioannis.
He was very close with Joanne. I sent her a message when I read the Facebook post that he passed. She wrote back: Hi Carol, he pass in his sleep. He had heart problems and was on medication but he was taking medication as well as insulin for diebetics. It was sudden , he has not complained of anything. We were at barsiniko, at his house. Im so devasted.....he was such a goood man....[Joanne was the one who found him] Yes... was shocked of course it took me a while before i could accept it and call ambulance. Was trying to wake him and then did ... but it was too late he had passed around 1 - 2 o' clock...[in the morning on Sunday, December 6]
Christos' family: parents: Nikolaos Stavros Kakaletri him mom was Tasia maiden name Zorbas. Christos was age 67 .his older brother Stavros passed away in 2016 in Montreal , no kids so there is no one left from that family.

Birth
Birth year calculated from death -- he died at age 67.Death
Death date from Joanne Dimitrakakis post on Facebook, December 11, 2020 -- Stavros died at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, December 6 at his home in Barsinikos: With a heavy heart and with deep sorrow, I, and all the people who loved him, want to announced the passing of our beloved Xristos N. Kakaletris. Xristos was born and raised in Taygeti, as an adult his contributions to the growth of the village as the president of the then "Proodeftiko Syllogos Taygeti" are countless. His honesty, his hard work and his selfless contribution to the village have left a void that will never be filled. His endless goal to achive honestly and progress for all was the ultimate reason that some people fought him, including the people he work alongside to bring the village to its heights in the decade of 1990. Some of these same people did not even honor his last wishes, as he had made them publicly known.... Rest in Peace, may Saint George continue to watch over you, we love and miss you already.Christos' funeral was Tuesday, December 8.
