Yes, you have the right family. Petros Dimitrakakis is actually my grandfather. 😊 My mum is Foteini and Efstratios, Giannis, Nikos and Pota are her siblings.
My mum migrated to Australia in 1956 and married Mihalis Legakis in Melbourne, in 1967. My dad's family is from Naxos, although he was born in Athens in 1935. They had two children - me and my brother Manoli.
My uncle Efstratios married Eleni, and had two daughters.
My auntie Panagiota married Giorgos Hios, but did not have children.
And, my uncles Gianni and Niko did not marry.
Of all my mum's siblings, only Niko is alive. We lost my mum in 2004.
I am married to Nikolaos Gatsios from Agios Dimitrios, Pieria, and we have three children, Foteini, Ahillea and Ioanna. We live in Melbourne, Australia.
You are very lucky to be able to travel to the patrida every year and do your amazing research! We were there last year, for six weeks, and travelled all over Greece, to show the kids our magnificent homeland. They loved it and miss it. 🇬🇷
I too hope we can keep in touch, and perhaps meet up in Sparti some time.💙🤍
