Birth

There is a cross-out of the year 1924 and an addition of the year 1931 in the Town Register; possibly the year of birth was changed to make her appear younger for marriage?

Birth

The Town Register (Dimotologion) record for Eleni gives her birth year as 1924 -- however, that date is crossed out and 1931 is written over it. In the "Notes" section, there is a notation that says "age change." I asked Gregory Kontos how a birthdate can be changed and he wrote, "Her father or brother went to the local municipal office or the police and asked a friend of his to change the date!
