Obituary
United States, Obituary Records, 2014-2023Obituary for Thespi Blake.
THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF THESPI BLAKE. Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother OAKVILLE Thespi (Catsoris) Blake, better known as Dessi, age 86 of Oakville CT, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Joseph Blake, Jr.
Dessi was born on March 27, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine (Paniyakios) Catsoris. Dessi worked at Waterbury Hospital as an LPN for many years on the 11-7 shift prior to her retirement. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying trips to Punta Cana, Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City, just to name a few. Her favorite past time was spending time with family and friends especially her girls family weekends and trips to the casinos. Dessi was an inspiration to all, she never complained despite all she went through, and was the strongest person we all knew.
Her favorite quotes were everything is under control, I'm fine, and I can do it. The family would like to thank everyone who helped honor her wishes to stay at home through her illness; especially Agnes Matug and everyone from VITAS Healthcare.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, besides her husband of 63 years, Joseph Blake, Jr. are her children; Joseph and his wife Judy of Torrington, Anthony and his wife Magda of NJ, Kenneth and his wife Karen of Watertown, and Catherine of Oakville. Dessi and Joseph were blessed with nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister-in-law Catherine Castoris of NY, brother John Catsoris and his wife Agnes of TX, as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Besides her parents, Dessi was also predeceased by her brother, William Catsoris of NY.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Blake will be held on November 13, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery 669 Platt Rd, Watertown, CT 06795. All those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. The O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville has been honored to assist the Blake family during this difficult time. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrenâ??s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept 495 Memphis TN, 38101-9801. Memories last only if you share them, so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort or personal memory with the Blake family on Thespi's tribute page at www.oneillfuneralhome.com.
