Individual Details
John Stylianos Laricos
(13 Nov 1897 - 2 Sep 1987)
I found John Laricos as a connection on Ancestry. We are 2nd cousins, once removed through the Kostakos line. I sent him Ioannis' passenger ship record, where he came with Jimmy Pappas, and he wrote: "I literally have tears in my eyes seeing this because my father told me this when we were in Tarpon Springs Florida. Pappas was my grandfathers best friend until business separated them. My grandfather owned Tappans Restaurant in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn until 1969."
This, plus the Greek naming traditions of (the elder) John's children prove that John Laricos and Ioannis Stylianos Lerikos are the same person.
I asked John if he would contact Sts Constantine & Helen Church in Brooklyn to get the marriage record of John & Mary. I will write to NYC to get the civil copy. These would name John's father, so we can be 100% sure he is Ioannis Stylianos.
