In October 2008, the following information was received from the General State Archives of Greece, Archives of Lakonia in Sparta, upon my request for information on the Aridas family in Agios Ioannis (St. Johns). This is from the Municipal Rolls (Dimotologion).
Town Register, Agios Ioannis, Lakonia
Family Number 6:
Aridas, Mihail. Father: Christos, Mother: Gkolfo. Born 1867 in Agios Ioannis, death recorded Mar 24 1959
" Eleni Father: Dimitrios Leakakos . Born 1866 in Agios Ioannis, death recorded Sept 11 1955
" Christos, Born 1900 in Agios Ioannis; death recorded Sept 11 1955
" Eleni: father: Vasileos Karteroulis, born 1877 in Agios Ioannis
" Vasilios, Born 1905 in Agios Ioannis; death recorded Sept 11 1955
" Panagiotis, Born 1910 in Agios Ioannis; death recorded Sept 11 1955
Mihalakakos*, Konstantinos Male, born 1912 in Agios Ioannis, lived in Athens, death December 12, 1968
Aridas Anastasia F born 1918 married Dec 27 1959
*Note: Received a copy of Family Register from Mystras, from George Revelos in October 2009. That family register had Konstantinos listed. George said the following: "As for Kosta Mihalakakos, that is Kosta Aridas. My uncle wrote my mother back in the late 940's that he had uncovered the real name for Aridas as Mihalakakos. He said that one of the ancestors had long legs which is what Aridas translates to from arida (leg). It was a nickname that stuck. So, there for a while we were saying that mom was a Mihalakakos. It didn't take long for tht to disappear. I think my uncle Kosta had that put in. Maybe the note after his name references that. I can't make out what it says."
Daughter, Aikaterini's, marriage record lists her parents as:
Bride's Father's name: Mike Mihalakakon
Bride's Mother's Name: Ellen Louisa
