Note1916Robert was listed as missing by his wife Lucy after being discharged from the military police on 7 Feb 1916 and disappearing. He was described as being 6'4" tall. He had enlisted on 26 Aug 1915 and applied to be discharged arguing that his mother had lost her eyesight and his brothers were all fighting on the frontline. But apparently he had applied again to join the army on 9 Jul 1917 and named his father as next of kin, not his wife
